Keith Cozart, most famously known as Chief Keef is an American Rapper and a Chicago based record producer. He was born on August 15th, 1995 in Chicago, Illinois. He started recording music and rapping when he was just 5 years old, using his mother’s karaoke machine.
When he was a teenager he became a star instantly among the South Side community of Chicago because of his youtube mixtapes “Bang” and “The Glory Road”. He has an estimated net worth of $2 Million. Chief Keef got in trouble for being in possession of illegal firearms and gunshots. which led to him being under house arrest for 30 days and 30 days of home confinement. Which made him post his mixtapes on youtube, by the time he got out he was already a superstar in the rapping community.
He got recognized by big names in the rap industry like Big Sean, Kanye West and much more after he posted his mixtapes and his hit single “I don’t like”, a video that he posted on March 2012 got popular and gained over 30 million views by the end of 2012.
Due to this popularity, he was able to sign a record deal with Interscope Records. Later, he released his first debut album titled “Finally Rich” with Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, 50 Cent and others at the end of 2012. The album went out to sell more than 50,000 copies in the first week alone. Keef later released other albums titled “Bang 3, part 1” and “Bang 3, Part 2”.
Later, his record deal with Interscope Records was ended, which made him release a mixtape titled “Big Gucci Sosa”, in which he collaborated with Gucci Mane, Back from the Dead 2, which he produced himself.
In 2014, Interscope records helped Keed create his own record label which was named Glory Boyz Entertainment, under which he released his second album named “Nobody under Glory Boyz Entertainment” which featured Tadoe and Kanye West.
In 2015, he released another mixtape titled “Sorry 4 the Weight” and, the same year in May he signed a record deal with FilmOn Music, after announcing his new album “The Cozart”. Keef announced via Twitter in 2016 that he was retiring but in 2017 he released another album titled “Two Zero One Seven”.
